Syria. What a hellhole. Out of all the stories about torture, rape and death it’s difficult to find bright news and it’s no surprise people are tired of Syria, one’s heart cannot handle so much awfulness.
Nevertheless, actions of solidarity do come out. Like drops in the ocean. Last weekend a workshop on Peace Activism was given by Pax (campaign: ‘Adopt a Revolution’) in which a solidarity message (see image above) was shared with the activists of Kafranbel, a group of Syrian activists that demonstrates peacefully against Assad and the situation in Syria (see more on the facebook page of Kafranbel).
These activists are brave enough to keep on protesting peacefully. Activists who don’t resolve to weapons because they believe real peace and an inclusive society for all Syrians will be possible in the future and can only be reached with peaceful action. These people need solidarity actions like this one to find energy and optimism to continue their work. Their voices need to be heard.
Call it a drop or not. That’s what I find inspiring.
